About Chandler
Chandler Center for the Arts is a community-based arts organization in Randolph, Vermont, serving Central Vermont and the Upper Valley region with a year-round series of performances, art exhibits and educational opportunities in historic Chandler Music Hall and Gallery.
Performances and Festivals
Performances by world-renowned musicians, special projects celebrating the talent of local musicians and actors, and an eclectic series of gallery exhibits are made possible by generous support from individuals, businesses and foundations.
Chandler Music Hall is renowned for its incomparable acoustics: sound easily reaches every part of the 575-seat, handsomely stenciled auditorium. Chandler Gallery has wonderful natural light, and its upper floor works well as a space for smaller, informal meetings, rehearsals and performances. Both the music hall and gallery are handicap accessible.
Programming at Chandler Music Hall and Gallery is a carefully chosen mix of touring artists whose performances enrich the lives of people of all ages and incomes. Patrons can expect to hear a wide variety of music representing a variety of genres: classical, folk, multi-cultural, Celtic and French Canadian, traditional music, jazz and popular music, as well as dance and theatre.
Chandler proudly sponsors three popular annual festivals each year to include the New World Festival, the Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival, and Fiddlehead Festival.
Rent Chandler for Your Event
In addition to its own full season of performances, Chandler is also pleased to make its facilities available to other organizations or businesses for their own events.
Activities for Youth
Activities for youth are a strong focus of Chandler’s work. A fully-staged Broadway musical involving nearly 150 youth from more than 20 schools in the region is produced annually over the July 4th weekend. Chandler has earned a regional reputation for its student technical theater program where students in grades 9-12 learn valuable technical theater skills that are put to use supporting the full season of performances. Chandler’s daytime performance series serves area students, homeschool families, and individuals.
Chandler's Past and Future
Chandler's rich history as a cultural resource for the region, was celebrated during its 2007-2008 centennial season and dreams for the future have been defined with the development of a strategic vision and goals. Plans for a centennial building and renovation project are well-underway.
